I debated for months before getting a netbook. Now I can’t believe I waited so long!
This Eee PC is an extremely handy gadget for the money. It was out of the box, up and running, and connected to the internet (via wi-fi) in about 5-10 minutes. I only intend to use it for light browsing, and it is proving to be just fine for that. The portability is wonderful. It’s so nice to bring the computer to wherever I want to work within the house. And for travel, it will be AWESOME.
The keyboard is smallish, but not ridiculously small. I’ve had no problems adjusting to it.
The touchpad takes some getting used to, like any touchpad. I may break down and get a bluetooth mouse or trackball for it. But that would make it slightly less portable, and that’s my main purpose for the netbook. So I’m just training myself to use the touchpad.
The small screen is probably the biggest drawback. I can make it work for my most common websites (gmail, news, blogs, shopping, etc). It is not great for the gaming websites my kids favor. But that’s okay — keeps them away from my netbook! 
The battery life has been amazing so far. I have gotten more than 10 hours out of it (when much of that time was in standby). I have gotten at least 6 hours of actual working time out of it.
This will never replace my main computer. I wouldn’t want to do any complex tasks on it. But it is so quick and easy for all those daily web tasks. Just charge it nightly with the cell phone, and it ready to grab-and-go all day long.
